Arlington ISD is one of the largest employers in the area – and for good reason. The district offers competitive pay, flexible schedules, overtime opportunities, and yearly pay increases for most positions. But more than that, employees find a purpose in knowing their work directly supports students and teachers every single day.
The Facility Services team plays a vital role in keeping schools safe, clean, and fully functional. From maintaining grounds to repairing classrooms, this dedicated group of skilled professionals makes learning possible. The job fair will feature openings in a variety of trades, including skilled building maintenance (concrete, roofing, fencing, and carpentry), painting, plumbing, electrical work, fire alarm technology, and groundskeeping.
“We’ve got multiple positions available that we’d like to fill immediately,” said executive director of facility services, Corey Robinson. “We’re looking for candidates who love supporting students in the community. There are many opportunities for advancement and learning new skills with a great leadership team.”
For longtime employees like Jerry Gray, a maintenance and operations technician who has worked in the district for 40 years, Arlington ISD is more than just a workplace – it’s a community.
“There’s a lot of new people coming in, and the training is really great,” Gray said. “I love that the staff we do have is so willing to train those coming in.”
That spirit of teamwork and mentorship is one of the things that keeps Gray excited about coming to work every day. With so many departments working together, collaboration is key – and it’s something he says the district does exceptionally well.
“It’s really a great, comfortable place to work,” Gray said. “We have a great crew in all departments. The cross-work between departments and the communication we have between them is so good. We have so many vacation days, and the benefits – you just can’t beat it.”
After four decades, Gray has seen firsthand how much opportunity there is to grow within the district. His own career is proof that hard work and a willingness to learn can open doors.
“There’s a great chance to move up here,” he said. “I started in grounds in 1985, and now I’m here!”
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet department representatives, learn about the district’s benefits and work culture, and even interview on the spot. Selected candidates could receive immediate job offers before the night ends.
