Arlington ISD’s Board of Trustees meeting on May 15, 2025, is in the books, and here are a few of the highlights.
Grayson West, a sixth grader from Farrell Elementary, started the meeting by leading the board in the pledges of allegiance, and he did a great job. Thanks, Grayson!
One of the first items on the agenda was a presentation from Ginger Cole-Leffel, Arlington ISD director of professional learning. She shared the district professional learning plan that she and her team have been developing. This plan has been created in response to the board’s district priorities adopted last year, which called for a plan like this to establish systems of continuous improvement that foster meaningful learning experiences and increase student outcomes.
Later, the board approved the monthly financial report and the quarterly investment report through March.
The board also approved an interlocal agreement with Stephen F. Austin University that will allow the university to use some of the district’s facilities for teaching field experience, internships, practicums, clinical teaching and residencies. It’s a good way to support the development of future teachers and grow the teacher applicant pool for Arlington ISD.
Those are just a few of the highlights from tonight’s meeting. If you would like more details on any of these, or any of the items not covered in this Board Brief, please click here to watch the entire meeting.
And don’t forget, school gets out next Friday, May 23!
