Parents, if you’re looking for an unforgettable and exciting way for your rising seventh, eighth or ninth grader to explore potential career paths, Arlington ISD’s third annual Career Exploration Camp is the perfect opportunity!
From July 14-17, students will gather at the Arlington ISD Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center for four days of hands-on career exploration. Campers will dive into careers in culinary arts, cosmetology, health science, construction and more! Rotating through stations of their choice, they’ll gain real-world experience and discover passions they may not have even considered.
“What makes this camp special is that it’s designed with all the students in mind,” said career and technical education (CTE) specialist Jamiel Harris. “Our department has worked hard to offer a diverse range of programs and courses that meet the needs of every student. This camp provides a safe space for students to explore their current interests or even discover a passion they never knew they had. Many of our students have limited exposure to the wide variety of career opportunities available, especially the ones in high demand right here in our community.”
This exciting camp is made possible through the partnership between Arlington ISD’s CTE department and the guidance and counseling team. Together, they are committed to giving students an early start on planning their futures by providing hands-on learning experiences – all while having fun over the summer.
“My goal for the students is that they walk away from camp having had a fun, meaningful experience,” Harris said. “I want them to learn something new, connect with peers who share their interests and feel inspired about their future. Most importantly, I hope they leave with confidence in their post-graduation plans knowing that our district offers plenty of resources and opportunities to help them succeed.”
