Last Saturday was historic for Arlington ISD’s fine arts program. All six district high school marching bands earned top honors at the UIL Region 5 Marching Band Contests and advanced to Area contests, a feat achieved only five times since 2004.
Advancement is based on receiving a “First Division” rating, an honor awarded for superior performance.
“This milestone reflects not only musical excellence but also the dedication of our students, directors, and support staff,” said Dr. Christopher Anderson, Arlington ISD director of fine arts. “It’s a testament to the enriching experiences we strive to provide for every child in the district.”
It’s also the product of a district and community devoted to providing students the best opportunities in fine arts.
“Over the past few years, Arlington ISD has invested in modern sound systems, custom uniforms, new instruments, custom semi-trailers, and professional show design services to ensure our students have access to contemporary marching arts experiences,” Anderson said.
Everyone is invited cheer on these talented students at their upcoming Area contests and celebrate this remarkable achievement together.
