Arlington ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Kyle Berger as its new Chief Technology Officer. With more than two decades of experience leading large-scale technology operations across North Texas school districts, Berger brings a bold vision for innovation, cybersecurity, and equitable access to digital learning.

A nationally recognized leader in K-12 educational technology, Berger most recently served as CTO for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, where he led initiatives across instructional technology, network infrastructure, student information systems, and long-range planning projects. His previous roles include senior technology leadership positions in Duncanville, Cedar Hill, Alvarado, and Keller ISDs.

Berger has earned numerous recognitions, including Top K-12 IT Influencer, Technology Administrator of the Year for Texas, and CoSN Top 30 EdTech Leader. He currently serves on national advisory boards for Google, Cisco, and Lenovo, and was invited to the White House to contribute to national education and cybersecurity planning.

Arlington ISD Superintendent Dr. Matt Smith welcomed Berger to the district.

“Kyle’s depth of experience and passion for student success make him the perfect leader to advance Arlington ISD’s digital learning strategies, infrastructure, and innovation for years to come.”

Berger shared that he brings a deeply student-centered mindset to the role.

“I’m passionate about making sure students understand how to properly use technology, not just as consumers, but as creators and collaborators,” he said. “Whether it’s preparing them for college, careers, or life beyond the classroom, the right digital tools and habits can make a lasting impact.”

Berger is also a global presenter in educational technology, having shared insights at major industry conferences across the U.S. and internationally, including as part of a U.S. delegation to Japan on K-12 innovation.

The Board of Trustees will ratify Berger’s appointment at the December 11, 2025, board meeting.
