“Good, better, best, Never let it rest. Until the good gets better, and the better gets best. Never let it rest. Until the good gets better, and the better gets best. Never let it rest. We are Peach!”
For a decade, this has been the foundation of Peach Elementary, a campus where the culture is felt by everyone who walks through the doors.
Arlington ISD marked a milestone this week as Peach Elementary celebrated its 10th-annual Eddy and Debbie Peach Day, an event honoring a decade of growth, leadership, and student success.
“We knew it would be important to strategically focus on building a school culture that helped students and families quickly become proud Peach Vikings,” Peach Elementary principal Ayesha Ramos said. “That meant that we would work to build relationships with each student and family one-by-one, while also creating what it means to be Peach Vikings together.”
The celebration showcased exactly what makes Peach Elementary special. Student leaders guided attendees through the event, spotlighting student organizations and campus accomplishments such as A/B Honor Roll and high attendance rates.
The presentation opened with spirited performances from the school’s cheerleaders, step team, and choir. Following the performances, Leader In Me student representatives led visitors on a campus tour, highlighting the leadership habits and academic growth that have become hallmarks of the school’s culture.
“It brings an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude as I reflect on these last 10 years at Peach,” Ramos said. “We are most proud to have achieved the growth we have in all areas, from culture, academics, discipline, attendance, and through improved feedback from parents, visitors, and our own students.”
Debbie Peach attended the celebration, reflecting on the honor of having a campus named after her and her late husband, longtime Lamar High School football coach and educator Eddy Peach.
“Ten years ago, we were so honored to have a school named after us,” Peach said. “We’ve worked for this district forever. We love it. We still love it. There’s nothing better than Peach Elementary.”
