On Thursday, Dec. 4, Arlington ISD is hosting a Special Education Classroom Assistant Job Fair at Rodriguez Junior High School from 5-7 p.m. This is your chance to explore roles across the district, meet our team, and even interview on the spot. In many cases, qualified candidates may receive same-day job offers.
Why Consider Becoming a Classroom Assistant?
Special education classroom assistants play a vital role in supporting students of all abilities. Whether working with young learners just starting their journey or supporting students developing vocational skills in high school, assistants help create safe, meaningful, and inclusive learning environments.
Arlington ISD has openings at all grade levels – elementary, junior high and high school – and across a wide range of special education programs, including:
- Inclusion
- Vocational Adjustment Class (VAC)
- Deaf Education
- Vision Services
These roles offer competitive pay, starting at $19.05 per hour and increasing up to $28.27 per hour. Certain positions also receive an additional 50 cents per hour, including:
- ABLE (Academic and Behavioral Learning Environment)
- Alternate Curriculum
- ISPD (Individuals with Severe and Profound Disabilities)
- ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education)
- SEAS/GAP (Social, Emotional and Academic Success)
