    Arlington ISD visual arts students earn statewide recognition

    April 2026

    Thirty-seven high school artists were selected as Visual Arts All‑Staters through the Texas Art Education Association’s Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE). This distinction places them among the top young artists in Texas and recognizes their exceptional dedication to the visual arts.

    Mary Moore sixth grader advances to National Hoop Shoot Competition

    After outshooting more than 112,000 students nationwide, Kate is advancing to the Hoop Shoot National Competition on April 18. She is set to compete against 11 other regional champions for the national title and the chance to have her name inscribed on the Elks trophy displayed in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

    Rodriguez Junior High Band makes history with UIL Sweepstakes

    For the first time in 64 years, the Rodriguez band (formerly Carter Junior High band) earned the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Sweepstakes Award, the highest honor a band can receive in Texas UIL music competitions. The achievement marks a defining moment for students, staff, and the entire Arlington ISD community.

ARLINGTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 5.57 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY ($10.60).
