Apply now for Pearcy or Martin STEM academy
The idea of an education with a STEM curriculum may sound outlandish to some.
But in the Arlington ISD, it’s part of the everyday curriculum. And it starts in pre-K!
If STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) is your child’s passion, then the Arlington ISD is the right place for them. We offer two specialized STEM academies to take students from elementary all the way to graduation.
Now is the time to register your students for our two specialized STEM programs so they are prepared for future success in a world that is relying more and more on science, engineering and technology.
At Pearcy STEM Academy, that starts in pre-K or kindergarten. Just the ninth certified elementary STEM school in Texas, Pearcy gets students started in STEM right away and fosters their love for critical thinking and problem-solving.
When Pearcy STEM Academy started, it was just one of 19 elementary schools in the entire nation that was STEM certified. Students learn from nationally certified STEM teachers and embrace the tools they will eventually need in the 21st-century job world.
Pearcy STEM students also get the benefits of a traditional education that other elementary schools offer. Students still have PE, art, music and recess.
Pearcy students also get to make a difference. Every student starts the year in a club and picks a real-world problem they want to solve. At the end of the school year, students get to display what they learned for the community at the Showcase Club.
Speaking of showcases, there are few schools that can showcase things better than the Arlington ISD STEM Academy at Martin High School.
The school provides everything that someone who wants a future in STEM is looking for. The opportunity to earn free college credit, internships and mentorship opportunities are available, along with field trips to companies at the forefront of the STEM field.
If you’re looking for proof of success from the STEM Academy at Martin, then look no further than two recent STEM Academy graduates who already graduated from college at MIT!
Students at the STEM Academy at Martin High School take their core classes in a collaborative environment before choosing the STEM pathway that best suits them. College credit can be earned in a variety of ways, from AP exams and courses to dual-credit courses offered at UT Arlington, with the costs of the classes and textbooks paid for by the district!
