Math books connect math concepts to football

Excitement filled the halls of South Davis Elementary last month when students welcomed a special visitor, Rowdy of the Dallas Cowboys, for a high-energy celebration of math.Dallas Cowboys and Blockchain.com donate math books to third graders

Through a partnership between the Dallas Cowboys and Blockchain.com, third grade students at South Davis got to participate in an interactive, football-themed math experience designed to strengthen foundational skills ahead of end-of-year assessments. Approximately 130 Dallas Cowboys math books were provided to the campus, and every third grader received a workbook connecting math concepts to the strategy and excitement of football – transforming problem-solving into a fun, game-day experience.

“When Rowdy arrived on campus, the excitement was immediate and contagious,” said South Davis principal Kalisse Kelly. “Our third graders were thrilled to receive new math books, and their enthusiasm was evident as they eagerly flipped through the pages.”

In total, more than 2,000 Dallas Cowboys math books will be distributed to third graders across Arlington ISD.Dallas Cowboys and Blockchain.com donate math books to third graders

“What made the event truly special was the way it connected learning with motivation,” Kelly said. “Students left feeling inspired to work harder and push themselves toward their individual goals. We know this event will leave a lasting impact on their confidence, motivation, and academic growth.”

By combining education, innovation, and a little Cowboys spirit, the initiative demonstrated how creative collaboration can inspire confidence in young learners.

“The message that education and perseverance matter was clear and powerful,” Kelly said. “Experiences like this remind our students that their community believes in them and supports their success.”

Arlington ISD is grateful to the Dallas Cowboys and Blockchain.com for investing in our students and helping make math memorable, meaningful, and fun. We know that when community partners step up, our students win every time.
