Martin valedictorian Soptorshi Rai
It’s graduation season and we are celebrating the Class of 2025 valedictorian and salutatorian for all eight Arlington ISD high schools. Meet Martin High School’s valedictorian Soptorshi Rai.

SCHOOL: Martin High School
COLLEGE: California Institute of Technology (Caltech)
INTENDED MAJOR: Computer Science
〉What is one piece of advice you would give an incoming freshman?
Make sure that high school is a balance of work hard play hard. Plan ahead to meet your goals but leave time to enjoy high school.
〉What will you miss most about high school?
I will miss playing intense board games with my friends.
〉What are you most excited about after graduation?
I’m excited about moving into college and having new experiences in a new state with new people.
〉Who inspires you the most and why?
My mom. She left everything she knows behind so that my sister and I can have a better life. This has shown me that any goal is achievable if the right amount of effort is given.
〉What’s your favorite high school memory?
There are so many great memories. One of them was when I went to Florida for FBLA Nationals and I got to go to Universal Studios with my friends.
