Award for district’s 2022-2023 budget presentation
The Arlington ISD has been honored with a Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for its excellence in budget presentation for the 2022-23 school year.
The award marks the 11th consecutive year the district has received the honor.
“Our finance department continues to exhibit excellence in the presentation of the annual budget,” said Darla Moss, the Arlington ISD chief financial officer. “They have set a high standard for transparency in budget development. The continued recognition of our finance department illustrates their diligence and good stewardship of taxpayer dollars. I am very pleased with their outstanding effort.”
The award was given by the Association of School Business Officials International. Participants submit their budget documents to a panel of school financial professionals who review the materials for compliance with the MBA Criteria Checklist and other requirements and provide expert feedback that districts can use to improve their budget documents.
Districts that show they’ve met the program requirements can apply for either a Meritorious Budget Award MBA or a Pathway to MBA.
“ASBO International’s MBA program provides school districts with tools and resources to develop a high-quality, easy-to-understand budget to share the district’s goals and objectives internally and with the community,” ASBO international executive director David J. Lewis said. “By participating in the programs, districts demonstrate their commitment to upholding nationally recognized budget presentation standards.”
