day in pre-K
Posted in on April 18, 2024

It’s always a fun day in pre-K

“It’s fun learning,” said Jennifer Pettiford, McNutt Elementary School pre-K teacher. “When they come to a pre-K class, they’re going to be doing interactive learning. That means hands-on.”

You can read about it, but you really have to see it. Check out the video below to see what a day is really like in Arlington ISD pre-K.

It’s a full day of learning through an innovative, play-based curriculum.

“It’s play-based to initiate creativity and exploration of their imagination,” said Nadia Azari, an Arlington ISD pre-K instructional specialist.

With whole group activities, small group activities, music, art, free choice time, reading, math and science, the fun – and learning – never stops. Plus, there’s playing with friends, lunch, recess on the playground and a rest time.

And the best part for parents: it’s free! Arlington ISD’s pre-K for 4-year-olds is now universal. That means any 4-year-old can attend for free. So, register now.

Once Upon a Time …

Once Upon a Time: A Fairytale Family Event for Pre-K and Kindergarten is at the Arlington ISD Professional Development Center on April 22, from 5-7 p.m. It’s a chance for kids – and parents – to dress up as a princess, prince or any fairytale character and have lots of fun together with literacy- and STEM-themed activities. Plus, it’s free, and there will be Arlington ISD staff there available to help with registration for next school year. Learn more about the fun event.
