Apply now for Jones or Corey Fine Arts and Dual Language Academies
Posted in on April 28, 2025

Jones parent info meetings on May 1 and 12 at 6 p.m.

The Arlington ISD is one of the top fine arts districts in the state, and we have the most unique, innovative fine arts academies anywhere.

And it all starts in kindergarten.

Now is the time to apply to get into one of the academies for next school year. The application is now open until May 15.

These schools are perfect for the student who loves to sing, dance, put on backyard plays or has a love for music and theater. Students also get 50/50 immersion in English and Spanish, giving them a head start in being bilingual. Students will be able to build fluency in both languages throughout the program.

The program starts in kindergarten at both Jones Academy (for students residing north of Pioneer Parkway) and Corey Academy (for students south of Pioneer Parkway). Transportation is provided to both schools, too.

The Arlington ISD doesn’t think a student’s love of fine arts and dual language should end in elementary either. Students continue the track at Gunn Junior High and Fine Arts and Dual Language Academy and then in high school at Arlington High’s Fine Arts and Dual Language Academy. Both Gunn and Arlington High received additions in the 2019 Bond program with incredible state-of-the-arts fine arts spaces – like black box theaters, band halls, practice rooms and more – making them true fine arts institutions.

But all the fun starts in kindergarten at Jones and Corey. That’s where half of the day is taught in English and the other half in Spanish. That’s where they can decide if music, visual arts, dance, drama or piano is their passion. They’ll have that chance because we provide all arts for all students at our fine arts and dual language schools.

Plus, they’ll learn in state-of-the-art facilities that include strings rooms, piano practice rooms, a black-box theater, dance studio and art lab.

Students get all these opportunities while receiving the whole-child education that every other Arlington ISD elementary student receives. And it’s all FREE!

There’s nothing quite like it! Learn more and apply now here! Applications are being accepted until May 15, 2024, at 5 p.m.
