Top spellers earn spot in regional bee
What does it take to win a spelling bee? You have to bee-lieve in yourself!
That’s exactly what sixth graders Cynthia Le from Moore Elementary and Audrey Nguyen from Farrell Elementary did last week at the Arlington ISD district spelling bee.
As area 7 and 8 spelling bee winners, both spellers will head to the Fort Worth East Regional Library to participate in the regional spelling bee on March 29.
“I’m excited,” Le said after correctly spelling the winning word in the area 7 competition — onomatopoeia.
Nguyen felt the same way in area 8.
“I’m so proud of myself,” she said after claiming victory with the word penitentiary.
Up against the top spellers from campuses across the district, it wasn’t easy.
Although the competition may be a bee, there’s no winging it. Mastering the dictionary isn’t just about memorization — it’s also about strategy, confidence and perseverance.
And with their eyes on the regional stage, it’s not over yet! They’re ready to beeline for success one letter at a time.
Congratulations spellers!
