The future is quantum!
Arlington ISD high school students spent part of their summer at Martin High School tackling concepts that are shaping the future of science and technology! The Quantum for All Camp is a STEM Experts’ initiative and partnership with Arlington ISD and the University of Texas at Arlington. The camp gives students the opportunity to learn quantum concepts that will impact their future.
The camp began in 2020 and has become a highly-anticipated summer learning opportunity for students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students explored advanced quantum physics concepts through hands-on learning, collaborative work, and problem-solving.
“Watching students explore and grow during the quantum physics camp is always exciting,” said Robin Griffith-Yates, STEM Academy administrator at Martin High School. “The way the teachers work with the students and help build their confidence surrounding quantum topics is amazing.”
The camp is designed to engage students with new ideas early to build a foundation that can make future learning more meaningful. The camp activities are connected directly to concepts students will encounter in future chemistry, physics, engineering, and technology classes.
“Learning about quantum physics exposes students to careers they might not have otherwise considered and helps them develop critical thinking skills they can apply beyond the classroom,” said Amanda Benson, science teacher and camp instructor. “This camp is important because it gives kids the opportunity to get curious about current science.”
