Jerry McCullough

McCullough joined the AISD in 1969 and taught history at Ferguson, Nichols and Shackelford junior high schools and Lamar High School. His first administrative appointment came in 1981 when he was named an assistant principal at Lamar. One year later McCullough helped open Martin High School, serving as assistant principal from 1982 to 1985. He was later promoted to principal of Arlington High School in 1985.
McCullough was named associate superintendent in 1989 and later promoted to deputy superintendent in 1993. During his tenure as deputy superintendent, he served as interim superintendent from July 1992 to January 1993 and from July 2008 until January 2009. The AISD Board of Trustees named McCullough superintendent on Jan. 14, 2009. He holds a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a master's degree from the University of North Texas.
