Guidance and Counseling
The Guidance and Counseling Department supports campus school counselors with the implementation of a comprehensive guidance counseling program that focuses on social and emotional wellness, academic achievement, and college and career readiness. School counseling programs includes the four components of the Texas Model which are guidance curriculum, responsive services, individual planning, and system support. School counselors provide direct lessons in classrooms throughout the school year, as well as targeted group and individual student support. As leaders and advocates for all students, school counselors, PreK-12, partner with the home and the community in an effort to empower students to become responsible and productive adults.
District Behavior Supports (PBIS/RP)
The District Behavior Supports (PBIS/RP) Department supports campus implementation of systems and practices that directly impact school climate and the learning environment for students and staff. Its primary outcome is the creation of an environment where students feel connected and a sense of belonging to their school community. This outcome is sought through the implementation of the district's PBIS Framework, which aims to build capacity for the implementation of classroom management strategies, management of student behavior and development of positive classroom cultures.
Student Outreach Services (SOS)
The Student Outreach Services Department is made up of master level Social Workers and Counselors who work to decrease both internal and external barriers to academic success for students who are homeless, Families in Transition (FIT), in foster care, are pregnant and/or parenting, or need drug and alcohol intervention support. The Student Outreach Services Department seeks to provide supports for students and families by helping to decrease barriers for continued education.
The Care Clinic Counseling Center
