Web Server

Goal

  • Provide a fully redundant platform of all web-hosted applications and increase server resources to ensure maximum availability of the district’s web services.

RESULT:

  • The website infrastructure has been configured into separate installations; one application for all public resources and one application for all private resources. This provides additional web server resources for each installation and improves the availability of each application.

WEB APPLICATION

Goal

  • Develop highly trained system administrators, website editors, and content liaisons to ensure the integrity of the district’s web presence.

RESULT:

  • In-person and virtual training has been provided for website editors throughout the school year ensuring the integrity of the district's web presence.

RESULT:

  • A stipend has been instituted for campus webmasters at senior high schools to maintain and assure standards of quality.

USER INTERFACE / USER EXPERIENCE

Goal

  • Ensure all web applications adhere to the district’s branding guidelines and design system.

RESULT:

  • All secondary school websites have been redesigned and are consistent with the district’s identity providing a more engaging experience online.

Digital Accessibility

Goal

  • Ensure that, to the maximum extent possible, persons with disabilities have an equal opportunity to access and utilize information technologies and technology-related services provided by the district.

RESULT:

  • The district’s website adheres to WCAG 2.0 Level AA and provides equitable access to all persons.

RESULT:

  • The district has maintained a digital accessibility score in web governance that is above the industry benchmark for education and commits to value people as its priority by being a leader in the education industry for providing accessible information online.

DIGITAL MARKETING

Goal

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive search engine marketing strategy that meets current and future needs of the district.

RESULT:

  • The district has partnered with a vendor to develop and implement a custom digital marketing strategy.
  • Web content has been optimized for search engines and end users ensuring a maximum reach of organic and paid traffic.

RESULT:

  • The district has maintained a digital marketing score in web governance that is above the industry benchmark for education by providing optimized information for search engines and user agents.
