Annual parade celebrates students and U.S.A.
The Fourth of July is just days away, but celebrations are already underway for some Arlington ISD students. Decked out in red, white, and blue, students in the Summer Learning and Tarrant County Kids programs recently cheered as a parade of students marched down the hallway at Berry Elementary to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

Fourth of July celebrations blaze through Arlington ISD as teachers and students walk the halls at Berry Elementary.
The festive event showcased students in the Extended School Year program, which provides opportunities for students who receive special education services through an individualized education program, or IEP, to continue building critical skills during the summer.
The annual tradition gives students in the ESY and Tarrant County Kids programs a chance to interact with peers while celebrating with classmates, families, staff, and the community. The Fourth of July procession has become a mainstay in summer programming and a highly anticipated event each summer.
“Both the Summer Learning staff and TCK staff were excited to have their students line the hallways and help celebrate our ESY students during the parade,” said Shelby Sanders-Alvarez, Arlington ISD’s special education curriculum coordinator. “They went above and beyond by creating posters, wearing festive accessories and adding fun touches that made the event even more special. Their enthusiasm and support helped create a memorable celebration for everyone involved.”
High school bands will march in City of Arlington parade

Arlington ISD students will continue the celebrations as bands, cheerleaders, and drill teams from each high school will honor America in the City of Arlington’s annual Fourth of July parade.
The parade starts at 9 a.m. this Saturday, July 4, in downtown Arlington. Visit arlington4th.org for the parade route and more details.
See you there!
