Committees include bond oversight, community ambassadors, educational improvement, instructional calendar, long-range facilities, school health, school libraries, and technology.

Citizens Bond Oversight Committee – 2026 Bond

The Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) was established by the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees as an oversight committee that monitors the use of funds approved by the public in the 2026 bond elections. This committee will ensure accountability and transparency to promote public confidence in the district’s use of voter-approved funds.

Community Ambassadors

The Arlington ISD Community Ambassador Academy is a structured, two-year civic engagement and leadership initiative. Its purpose is to cultivate a deeply informed cohort of community advocates who understand the operational, financial, and pedagogical complexities of managing a large, mid-urban public school district.

District Level Instructional Decision-Making Committee

The District Level Instructional Decision-Making Committee (DIDC) serves in an advisory role and reviews Arlington ISD’s educational goals, objectives, and major districtwide classroom instructional programs. It also advises the Arlington ISD District of Innovation Plan.

Instructional Calendar Committee

The charge of the Arlington ISD Instructional Calendar Committee is to assist the district by drafting and recommending an academic focused school calendar for the 2026-2027 school year that emphasizes student outcomes and considers the impact on staff and the greater community.

Long Range Facilities Planning Committee

The Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee provides findings and recommendations from community stakeholders to the Board of Trustees relating to the long-range planning, maintenance, modernization, utilization, and future development of Arlington ISD facilities in support of the district’s Strategic Plan.

School Health Advisory Council

The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), on behalf of the district, shall review and consider evidence-based strategies and techniques and shall develop nutrition guidelines and wellness criteria.

School Library Advisory Council

Under Arlington ISD board policy EFB (Legal), school boards may establish a local School Library Advisory Committee (SLAC) to ensure library collections reflect community values.

Technology Advisory Committee

The Arlington ISD Technology Advisory Committee plays a vital role in shaping the district’s digital learning ecosystem by evaluating evidence-based strategies and developing comprehensive technology adoption and usage specifications.
